Bani Hasan: Khairah Forest, Wadi Al Sadr and Rural Al Baha

Explore Bani Hasan through Khairah Forest, Prince Mishari Park and Wadi Al Sadr, with practical ideas for a focused rural visit.

Bani Hasan (بني حسن) is worth choosing for a day that links woodland with cultivated valleys. The governorate sits northwest of Al Baha city, and its villages extend across both highland and descending terrain.

Two Different Reasons to Visit

Khairah Forest (غابة خيرة) and Prince Mishari bin Saud Park (منتزه الأمير مشاري بن سعود) provide a recreation-focused outing. Wadi Al Sadr (وادي الصدر), associated with farms and a dam, gives the day an agricultural focus. Decide which experience matters most before adding the other.

The park’s formal name and the broader forest name may appear in separate map entries. Save the entrance you intend to use, not just a point placed somewhere in the woodland. A waterfall viewpoint likewise deserves its own location check.

Wadi Al Sadr and the Farms

Pomegranates and grapes are among the documented crops around Wadi Al Sadr. From a public route, look at how plots occupy the valley and how cultivated ground differs from the surrounding slopes. The most interesting visit may be a conversation about one crop rather than a drive past many farms.

Before arranging access, ask what will actually be growing or harvested during your visit. If a host offers a rural meal or a place to sit, clarify whether walking through the productive part of the farm is included. Keep irrigation channels and terrace walls clear.

Other Names to Recognize

Baydan (بيضان) is an administrative center, and Wadi Al Shaer (وادي الشاعر) is another named valley. They are useful for understanding addresses and organizing a local route; they do not need to become obligatory stops.

A Suggested Day

Spend the first part of the day around Khairah or Prince Mishari Park. After a break, choose a confirmed rural visit around Wadi Al Sadr if farming interests you. Otherwise, use the remaining time for a longer walk in the same area.

For families or mixed mobility groups, make the path surface and access from parking part of the decision. A broad landscape label such as “valley” gives little information about the final approach. The separate Khairah guide covers the forest and waterfall setting in more detail.
